2026 Showcase Choreographers


  • Camila Cardona is an Argentinian choreographer and performer based in New York City, working across musical theater, film, and dance-driven storytelling. Her recent stage credits include the Evita revival at A.R.T./Shakespeare Theatre Company, Carmen at Lincoln Center, and the world premiere of On Your Feet en Español. As a choreographer and collaborator, she has worked closely with Gustavo Zajac on Guys and Dolls at Arkansas Repertory Theatre. She recently collaborated and appeared on the film Otra, directed by Armani Ortiz, choreographed by Sandalio Alvarez and produced by Tyler Perry, set for release in 2026.

    Hugo B. Scuderi is a Paris-born performer, choreographer and director. His favorite regional theatre credits include In the Heights, On Your Feet!, and West Side Story. Commercially, he has worked as a dancer for Disney and as an associate choreographer for Uniqlo. Associated with Misty Dance Theater (@misty_dance_theater), Hugo currently develops The Act of Waiting and Dancing Cinema with Misty Dance Theater.

  • Originally from a dairy farm in Ohio, Caleb graduated from Oklahoma City University with a Bachelors Degree in Dance Performance and now calls New York City home! His past performances span The MET Opera at Lincoln Center, Off-Broadway, regional theaters across America, as well as, on HBOMax, Netflix, and the BBC. Caleb was recently the associate choreographer for WAITRESS & MATILDA (Music Theatre Wichita), choreographer for SOMETHING ROTTEN JR (The Beacon Performing Arts Center), Movement Director for KATE HUNDLEY’S RESORT 2024 fashion runway, and an assistant choreographer to Billy Griffin for BROADWAY BARES 2023. He teaches/choreographs at various universities, conventions, and studios around the United States, including Steps on Broadway and Broadway Dance Center in NYC. Caleb is currently represented with the bicoastal agency: The Movement. 

  • Gabriela Morris (she/her)- NYC Choreographer debut! Gabriela is a professional choreographer, dresser, performer, and tailor based in New York City. Select choreography credits: Spring Awakening (NJ Perry Award nomination), The Wild Party (Maverick Theater, CA), Memphis (County Players, NY), Thoroughly Modern Millie (Main Street Theater, NJ). She currently dresses full-time at Stranger Things: The First Shadow on Broadway, and recently concluded her second season dressing the Rockettes at the Radio City Christmas Spectacular. She’d like to thank Black Box Movers for this opportunity and Penelope for her unwavering love and support.

  • Jenny Oehlwein (she/her) is a NYC based performer, educator, choreographer, and Director. She made her associate choreographer debut in 2024 on Broadway Bares and her Co-choreographer debut in 2024 I Put a Spell On You featuring Robyn Hurder and Max Clayton. Her TV/Commercial credits include: Coca Cola/Universal, Disney’s 50th Anniversary celebration, Succession (S4), Billions (S2), and Malouf Bedding. Her Theater/Live Performance credits include: Elf (national tour), West Side Story, Legally Blonde, The Bodyguard, Broadway Bares, Take One Pledge, and RCCL. She teaches for Streetz, Encore, Dancers Inc, Broadway Dance Center, Steps on Broadway, Dance Device Lab, & Bold Dance Project.   • Yurika Ono is an artist originally from Japan and currently based in New York City. She worked as a choreographer in Japan and made her choreographer and director debut in 2024 with her original production, Step Into…, produced by Time Capsule Project. The sold-out show explored the history of cinema through a wide range of dance styles. Since moving to NYC, Yurika has performed in numerous productions, including the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade and New York Fashion Week, and made her theater debut at Fireside Theatre in It’s a Wonderful Life. She is honored to be part of the Black Box Movers Showcase and grateful for the support of her family, teachers, and friends.

  • Born in Houston, Texas and raised in Melbourne, Australia, John Reed is now a New York City based actor, dancer, singer and choreographer. His Australian theater credits include Funny Girl, Merrily We Roll Along, Jesus Christ Superstar, Songs for Swingin’ Lovers (Stageart) and the role of ‘Action’/‘Riff understudy’ in West Side Story on Sydney Harbour, A Midsummer Night’s Dream, Much Ado About Nothing, Romeo and Juliet and King Lear. John made his Off-Broadway debut in Amid Falling Walls for the National Yiddish Theatre Folksbiene, where he served as Dance Captain. Regional credits include Guys and Dolls, Something Rotten, Fiddler On The Roof, A Chorus Line, Tootsie and 42nd Street and most recently, Fiddler On The Roof In Yiddish in Concert directed by Joel Grey. As a choreographer, John choreographed Black Rock, Twelfth Night, Romeo and Juliet, The Taming Of The Shrew, The Winter’s Tale, and The Comedy of Errors, all for Melbourne Shakespeare Company.

  • Sashalie Rios is a proud former resident of the 305- Miami, FL. There she graduated from New World School of the Arts College with a focus in modern dance & dance performance. Since moving to NYC in 2018 she has worked professionally in concert, theatre and commercial spaces. Former collaborators include LaHa Dance Group, Eryc Taylor Dance Company, Luis Salgado, Kpop Demon Hunters/Macy’s Parade and more. Most recently ‘Sash’ has been choreographing across various performance spaces. As a former BBM associate & performer, she is thrilled to be presenting her work at Black Box Movers. ¡Pa’tras ni para coger impulso! 

  • Sarah Juliet Shaw (she/her) is an NYC-based dancer, choreographer, and educator. Her choreography has been presented at Lincoln Center, New York City Center, Ailey Citigroup Theater, Jazz Choreography Enterprises, New York Theatre Barn, and Broadway Dance Center. She collaborates frequently with recording artist Lagoona Bloo, including choreographing her opening set for the band Aqua at Irving Plaza and her music video Underwater Bubble Pop. As a performer, Sarah has appeared on TV shows such as The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel, Physical, and Étoile, and performed at numerous regional theaters nationwide. She is currently on the faculty at Steps on Broadway and Broadway Dance Center. www.sarahjulietshaw.com 

  • Sissa Strain is a creative director, choreographer, and educator known for her work in specialty styles, circus arts, and prop integration. Originally from Louisiana, she studied at Indiana University and The Jerusalem Academy of Music and Dance where she earned a Bachelor of Science in Dance and Kinesiology. Sissa is on faculty at Broadway Dance Center, a 15+ year member of Dance Masters of America, a founding member of the Choreographers Guild, and a member of Actors’ Equity Association. Sissa is honored to have assisted iconic choreographers spanning stage and screen including Marguerite Derricks, Cassidy Noblett, Adam Cates, and Casey Noblett. Follow for more @sissa.strain
